Are you a Scanner?

Barbara coined the term Scanner in her book Refuse to Choose.  Barbara was one - and so am I!

What does Scanner mean?

You are a person who is intensely curious and interested in many things. You don’t want to involved in just one thing - you love variety! Sometimes you take an unusual career path - or have a variety of hobbies you’re passionate about.

Maybe you have had multiple projects or careers. You’ve had a series of things you’ve been very interested in. Sometimes people may have a “good enough” job to fund their many interests. Some Scanners have multiple careers - and other may have serial careers.

Sometimes other people tell you to focus on one thing, “get serious,” or tell you you need to change. Being a Scanner is actually an incredible gift! And it’s a different way of moving through life. It can be a big advantage if you know how to harness it.
